AuTistic Sharity Sale 28 June 2009
Written on: Monday, August 17, 2009
Time: 10:29 PM

On 28th June 2009, Leo Club of Swinburne Sarawak participated in a charity sales organized by the Autistic Home in hopes to raise fund for them. Six of us from the Leo Club of Swinburne Sarawak participated in this sale; Leo Chai Siaw Yin, Leo Maxbie Teo, Leo Lai Wei Nie, Leo Adrian Yao, Leo Yeo Pei Yuan and Leo Winnie. The fund raised from this project will be donated to the Autistic Home.

Few days before the sale, we ordered for 100 packets of chicken rice at the cost of RM 2.00 per packet and also winter melon tea. We sold the chicken rice for RM 4.00 per packet while RM 2.00 per cup or RM 3.00 for two cup of winter melon tea.

We arrived at the venue at 7am in the morning and arranged the food on the table. Less than two hours, the chicken rice was all sold out. The drinks were pretty hard to sell but around 10am, the drinks sold off pretty well. We also bought 10 cup of Cincau Sarsi from the store beside us which cost RM 2.00 per cup to repay the kindness of the owner for providing us plastic bags and ice. Representing Leo Club of Swinburne, we donated RM 10.00 to the Autistic Home. In the end, we manage to sell off everything and collected RM500. The collected fund including the cost of the ingredients and materials is donated to the Autistic Home.

After the sale, we learned a lot about cooperation and teamwork. It took our committee members a lot of hard work and effort to make this sale a success. It also improved our communication, marketing and planning skills. At the same time, we were all enjoying this experience and glad that we managed to raise fund for the Autistic Home.

I am looking forward to have another charity sale like this again. Leo Club of Swinburne Sarawak will definitely be participating in the Autistic Home next time.
