Moon cake Festival Celebration

On the 2nd October 2009, the Leo Club of Swinburne Sarawak in conjunction with secondary schools such as SMK Sungai Tapang, SMK Sungai Maong, St Thomas, SMK Kuching Town , SMK Arang Road, SMK Green Road ,and Chong Hua Middle School no. 1 have come together to celebrate the Mooncake Festival with the residents of Cheshire Home, Kuching. The event was organized in the hopes of giving the residents of Cheshire Home the feeling of happiness as well as letting them experience the wonderful environment of the Mooncake Festival whereby everyone come together as a family and communicate with one another and play lanterns while enjoying the night time gaze of the clear full moon in the sky. The event organized by Leo Club Swinburne Sarawak has an amount of 70 Leo Club participants from various schools mentioned above and a total of 30 residents of Cheshire Home, Kuching.
For the event, fellow Leo Club members came together and gave the residents a few performances such as violin play, dance performance, and singing. We also did a few photo-taking sessions with the residents that made the residents very happy.
A total of 20 mooncakes were brought to the Cheshire Home along with fruits and drinks that was donated to the Cheshire Home for the enjoyment of the residents. From this event, the fellow Leo Club members have learnt to communicate with the elderly as well as the other residents of Cheshire Home. We also learnt how to work as teammates and help one another in the preparations for the event.
In conclusion, the Mooncake Festival event was a success as everyone who participated in this event left with smiles on their face.

About
Leo Club of Swinburne University (Sarawak Campus) was established and chartered on 28th October 2005 with Leo Kenneth Mah as the founder and the first president. Our club was kindly sponsored by the Lions Club of Kuching North, with Lion Edric Chan and Lion Gerald Ng being the Leo Advisors whose commitments over the years has brought us to a greater height.
During the first year of establishment, various activities were carried successfully. In 2006, our club twined with Leo Club of Sibu Mandarin.
