Chesire Home Sale 5 July 2009
Written on: Monday, August 17, 2009 Time: 10:31 PM

In the morning of 4th July 2009, Leo Club of Swinburne Sarawak participated in a charity Food Fair sales organized by the Cheshire Home in hopes to raise fund for the centre. Five of us from the Leo Club of Swinburne Sarawak were participated in this sale; Leo Joey Chen, Leo Maxbie Teo, Leo Danny Lai, Leo Chai Siaw Yin and Leo Adrian Yao. The fund raised from this project will be donated to Cheshire Home Few days before the sale, we ordered for 100 packets of chicken rice which cost RM 2.00 per packet. We sold the chicken rice for RM 4.00 per packet. However, last few packets of chicken rice were sold RM 3.00 to clear it. We arrived at the venue at 7 am in the morning and arranged the food on the table. Our stall was placed at the corner of Cheshire Home which was less noticeable by people that affected the result of sale for first few hours The number of our stall was 48. Around 9:30 am, more and more people visited our stall since we shouted quite loud to sell chicken rice to attract attention. However, sometime after 10 am, the sale began to slow down. After that, we decided to sell the last few packets of chicken rice for RM 3.00. All food was sold out and we managed to collect RM385 from the sales. This collected fund including the cost of the ingredients and materials is donated to Cheshire Home. From the sale, we learned to co-operate to each other as team members. It took our committee members a lot of hard work and effort to make this sale a success. It also improved our communication, marketing and planning skills. At the same time, we were all enjoying this experience and glad that we managed to raise fund for Cheshire Home. I am hoping forward to have another charity sale similar to this one. Leo Club of Swinburne Sarawak will kindly agree in participating next time. Reported by, Yeo Pei Yuan Leo Yeo Pei Yuan Organizing Chairperson
